CIELOS DEL INFINITO IS AN ARTS FESTIVAL THAT
TAKES PLACE IN THE CHILEAN PATAGONIA. IN ITS SIX EDITIONS, MORE THAN 60,000
PEOPLE HAVE PARTICIPATED, WITH 60 STAGING AREAS AND MORE THAN 380 ARTISTS
HAVING MADE SPEECHES, WORKSHOPS AND PRESENTATIONS IN THE MAGALLANES REGION.
MAGALLANES
REGION– The Cielos del Infinito Arts Festival is an event that is held during
the summer since 2008 in the most southern cities of the world such as: Punta
Arenas, Porvenir, Puerto Natales and Puerto Williams, all from the Magallanes
Region and Chilean Antarctica.
Its main purpose
is to create and extend cultural spaces for the most southern part of the
Chilean territory, contributing to the artistic dialogue and dissemination of
national and international artists.
Until now there have been six
editions, which have been financed mostly, thanks to the contribution of the
National Council for Culture and Arts, Fondart, and the National Fund for
Regional Development, FNDR.
“Its 7th edition of the festival will be held in
January of 2014. For this occasion we have considered as a challenge to enhance
the internationalization of the event by scheduling a large number of foreign
shows. We have also opened up a variation of new scenarios, considering
spacious public places in Magallanes for artistic movements, beyond the
conventional spaces”.
Although the
previous festivals have been successful, ticket sales for 2014 have been very
slow. Slightly more than a week ago, 300 tickets were put on sale for all the
theater, circus, dance and music concerts that will be held in the Jose Bohr
Municipal Theater and staged in the former prison of Punta Arenas in the 7th edition of the Arts Festival Cielos del
Infinito, and until yesterday only 25 tickets have been sold; that is less than
10%.
The Tickets are being sold at
Café Tapiz, located at 612 Roca Street, and have a value of $10.000 CLP. Not
only will this ticket guarantee you a spot in the shows, but will also allow
you to save $6.000 to attend all activities of Cielos del Infinito because the
shows in the Municipal Theater will have a value of $2.000 and there are six of
them. The shows in the former prison will have a value of $1.000 and there will
be four of those.
The shows held in Puerto
Williams, Porvenir and Puerto Natales are free. The workshops, classes, plays
and street circus, movies and visual arts are all free throughout the region.
Shows will be held on January
18 and 19 in Puerto Natales, January 20 to 26 in Punta Arenas, January 21 and
22 in Porvenir, and January 23 and 24 in Puerto Williams.
